I hate when people act like there’s something wrong with pursuing perfection, there isn’t. If you’re meticulous about your methods, and look to better yourself over and over and over again in hopes of achieving the best result, and pay attention to the details that are often dismissed or ignored, and aim for the best outcome with the humble abilities that have been bestowed upon you, then you are doing what you should be doing. Stating that perfection is impossible is an excuse that people use to justify the sloppiness in their work and poor quality showcased efforts. We know it’s impossible, but striving for perfection only becomes problematic when the need to be perfect consumes you, exhausts you, and depletes you in all other areas of life. If you don’t take it to the extreme, if you know your limits, that pursuit causes you to be the best you can be as opposed to settling for the least of your capabilities. I’d rather fail in an attempt to be perfect than succeed in mediocrity. People are sad.
